Nose
Starts with subtle oakiness and earthy notes. Roasted nuts. Raisins. Leafy as well. Not the sweet sherryiness you expect of these old style Macallan's, but more on the dry side of sherry. This whisky needs time though. After a while there is more orange marmelade, dried figs, apricots
Taste
Round and rich. X-mas cake. Hints of flowering blackcurrants. Prunes. Strawberries. Espresso coffee. Herbal notes of eucalyptus and camphor. Later on more bitterness. Balsamico vinegar. Slightly tanninic.
Finish
Medium long. Lingering notes of chewy cedar wood. Gingerbread. Spices of black pepper and nutmeg. Liquorice. A little salt at the end.
