CARDHU
A workhorse blending stock distillery that has served Diageo very well over the years. It makes a very typical Speyside malt. Cereals, fruits, a little honey and spicy/malty backbone. It has long been a hugely popular malt in Spain and there have been some terrific older bottlings of it from when it was a generally more distillate driven, old style malt. Some old Cadenhead dumpies labeled as 'Carddow' and some well-aged Signatory bottlings have all been terrific. There were some excellent official Rare Malts and Special Releases bottlings from Diageo as well. A good, benchmark Speysider.
