A much loved old discontinued expression from the other Orkney distillery, Scapa. Replaced briefly (and unsuccesfully) by a 14 year, an excellent 16 year followed before the distillery moved to NAS expressions.
This is a lovely unpeated drinking dram, smooth, easy going, malty and honeyed. Discontinued at the end of the 1990's this is something of a collector's piece now.
Nose: sweet and fresh. Smell of cotton.
Mouth: mild salinity, island style.
Finish: a bit short, due to the low abv.
Overall a very nice old style dram.
