GLEN ELGIN
A classical Speyside single malt. Older examples from the early 1970s and before can be exuberantly fruity, with a fulsome oiliness. The older official 'White Horse' bottlings of it as a 12 year old from the 1970s-1980s are often mineral, waxy and slightly peaty with a big kick of sherry to them. Many are fantastic and still good value. There are excellent older examples from numerous bottlers whiich are usually worth checking out. The more recent style of the distillery is a little lighter but still with a pleasant delicate waxiness and biscuity sweetness.
