CRAGGANMORE
A flagship malt for Diageo ever since it was included in the Classic Malts series in 1988. Interesting as it is quite a complex whiskies and not the easiest of makes to get on with. Older bottlings and vintages from the 1960s can be a full beehive of honey, resins and delicate waxes. Great examples by G&M and other assorted bottlers exist. Diageo have also put out some younger limited releasess which display more punchy maltiness, notes of orange fruit and complex spice characteristics. Most bottlings of Cragganmore are solid and the older ones are generally excellent. A robust and slightly more challenging Speysider.
