DALLAS DHU
One of several famous closed distilleries. Dallas Dhu is well known as it has been turned into a popular tourist attraction, however it is also well appreciated by drinkers. The make however can be quite changeable, the 1970s and 80s examples can be oily but full of gentle buttery fruits and notes of wildflowers. The best examples focus on these characteristics while some other bottlings can veertowards unusual. The best examples generally come from independents such as Signatory and Douglas Laing and some of the Rare Malt official bottlings. Older 1960s distillates are rarer but are generally more towards a bigger, waxier style and more consistent in their quality.
