AULTMORE
One of Speyside's more underrated drams. Aultmore is a slightly more muscular Speysider with a good savoury, cereal edge and plenty of spice and fruit. There have been some terrific official examples including the sherry-heavy Centenary 16 year old bottling but most of the best expressions are from the independents such as Cadenhead and Gordon & MacPhail. Those distilled in the 1970s can be maarvellously rich and fruity.
