BOURBON WHISKY

DISCOVER BOURBON WHISKY
Bourbon is distilled from a mash bill that must contain at least 51% corn with malted barley and rye or wheat. Most Bourbons include rye rather than wheat, so-called wheated Bourbons

Each grain makes a different contribution to the Bourbon:
  • corn provides sweetness and spice and the greatest amount of alcohol since it has the highest starch content of all the grains in the mash bill
  • malted barley adds sweetness and biscuit notes
  • rye adds spice and fruit
  • wheat adds softness and smoothness

The percentages of ingredients used for Bourbon are one way of fitting the flavour profile. In fact, for example, decreasing the proportion of corn allows the other grains to show more clearly.

Bourbon uses only a specific type of cask, known as a Bourbon barrel, which is made of white American oak charred on the inside and has a capacity of 200 litres.

Jim Beam is an American brand of Bourbon whisky produced in Kentucky since 1795 and it is one of the most popular bourbon whisky brands.

It is a story of seven generations of the Beam family, who have been involved in Bourbon whisky production for the company that produces the brand.

Since 1795, in honor of James B. Beam who rebuilt the business after Prohibition ended, they have been producing Bourbon whisky with a strong sense of family values.

Their Bourbon is elegant, smooth and refined and it is aged in American white oak Bourbon barrels for 4 year.
