AUCHENTOSHAN
The last remaining triple distilled Lowlander. Not a hugely 'sexy' distillery, Auchentoshan nevertheless plays a key part in the Scottish distillery map being one of the lightest and most elegant of Scotland's whiskies. The undoubted greatest examples are the two official single casks of 1957 50 year old. If your budget does run to that many zeros though there are other fine examples from the 19600s and 70s which show Auchentoshan at its most lush and fruity.
